About the fishing cabin
Our cabin is fully equipped, suitable for up to 6 guests. You will be part of the community in our fishing village. The boats are docked along our private floating pier, right in front of the lodge. You only need to bring duvet covers, pillow cases and sheets. The rest is all there. Outside we have a cleaning table and smoke oven that you can use during your stay to clean and smoke your freshly caught fish.
You will be using solid polyester open fishing boats with 15 HP outboard engines. Since there are many good fishing locations nearby, you don’t have to spend much time traveling before you can make your first cast.
About the fishing
Fishing for cod is good all year round. During the early spring period you can catch the big specimen (or actually: speciwomen) that come to the coastal area to spawn. Casting with large softbaits (don’t be afraid to use plastics over 30 cm) is incredibly effective, but of course the good old pilkers are also a good choice.
Later in the season, from June onward the coal fish start to arrive. This amazing sport fish is guaranteed to hit the lure at full speed, so make sure to have your rod tight in your hands when retrieving your lure.
Halibut is a fish that we see more and more, not in the least because our guests know how to fish for them better every year. Soft baits of 20 - 40 cm are the right choice for these big flatfish. Especially when fished slowly from the bottom, up to the surface. Once you have caught one of these incredible fish, you only want one thing: one more!
