About the fishing cabin
You will stay in one of our three newly built, modern and comfortable fishing lodges, all offering great views over the fjord and the mighty mountains. The lodges are equipped with floor heating and a well equipped kitchen.
It’s safe to say that we have a whole fleet of fishing boats, both high-end aluminium fishing boats and smaller polyester boats. All boats are equipped with super reliable 4-stroke outboard engines, GPS and fish finders. We also have kayaks for rent if you want to explore the beautiful waters around our fishing camp.
If you want to try to catch the big fish, we recommend one day with one of our fishing guides.
Since we are about as far west as you reach the mainland in Norway, this means that we are close to the Gulf Stream and have mild winters - mostly with degrees. That is, we never experience ice either on the sea or inside the fjord, and you can fish all year round.
We have our own shop with a good selection of fish materials. And should we be missing something, then we get the most out for your quickly.
About the fishing
Sea fishing is of an exceptional level for various reasons. The special thing about this destination is that you can fish here all year round because of the warm gulf stream and the great protection of cliffs to keep you safe from the wind.
On the open sea and in the fjord you can expect great amounts of cod. Traditionally these fish are targeted with pilkers, but over the recent years large softbaits have proven to be more successful. This method shows to get you both more and bigger cod.
Another fish that is great to catch spinning with soft plastic, as well as baitfish, is halibut. A life changing fish for many. You can expect anything from a small but hard fighting 10 lb halibut up to a barn door weighing over 200 lb. For the best outcome of your fishing holiday we highly recommend to use our guiding service to show you the best locations and techniques.
Fishing for coal fish
During the summer months, we have large shoals of coal fish coming into the fjords. Now you can fish for them, in several water depths. Just use your echo sounder to find them, but also your eyes: if you see terns and gulls diving, you know that the coal fish are hunting after their smaller counterparts. Time to cast sand eel lures, hard baits and even popper lures!
Fresh water fishing
Do you like freshwater fishing? No worries! We also have several fresh water where you can fish, and good salmon rivers such as Flekke elva and Gaula.
